Founding editor at the 27,000-circulation biweekly news and arts tabloid for Palm Beach County, quickly sold to the millionaire owner of CVI and the one-armed heir to the Listerine fortune. (Folded in December 2000.)

Managing editor for the launch and first two issues of the glossy 40-page quarterly music magazine direct-mailed nationwide to 140,000 customers of the MARS Music Superstores. (MARS perished in 2000.)

Associate editor and entertainment editor at the 65,000-circulation alt-weekly distributed in Palm Beach and Broward counties. Also wrote weekly entertainment column. (XS was renamed City Link in September 1997, which is also when I was fired to protect my boss from a sexual harrassment lawsuit. I got a settlement, he got canned, the woman got nothing.)

Founding editor and publisher of the 25,000-circulation news and arts weekly distributed in Palm Beach and Martin counties. (iCE was bought by the Sun-Sentinel in 1993 and merged with its own XS Magazine in 1994.)

General assignment and government reporter. For a brief time, compiled a weekly local politics column. Also wrote, edited, and assigned freelance copy for a weekly historic preservation section.

Covered Jacksonville’s Westside neighborhood – and weirdly enough, a Space Shuttle launch – for the 180,000-circulation daily.

County and general assignment reporter for the 30,000-circulation daily in Athens, Georgia. Won Community Service first place from the Georgia Press Association for exposing inconsistent property tax assessments.

Editor of the student newspaper at the University of Florida (the nation’s largest at 35,000 Monday-Friday circ) and the first editor elected to consecutive terms in the paper's 100-year history. Won best editorial in the nation in SPJ’s Mark of Excellence contest.

Adviser for the weekly student newspaper (5,000 circulation) at Florida Atlantic University (25,000 enrollment). Accomplishments:
We revived a defunct paper that had folded
icetwice in the previous decade.
We launched the paper’s first website.
We began biweekly summer publishing.
We created New Student Edition.
We won the 2005 Story of the Year from the
ii eAssociated Collegiate Press (ACP).
Our investigative reporting led to the forced
iic resignation of a student body president and
